Forge Custom Power-Up Guide Hot

Forge Custom Power-Up Guide
Tutorial for Halo 3
Written by c0rnd0gg

The Custom Powerup is a piece of equipment that is available in Forge, you only get to select 4 of these in any map you are working on. They are priced at only $2 each, and are a very important piece of equipment for anyone that likes custom options. We will talk you through the various options and try to convince you that The Custom Power Up is a must when creating that perfect level in a map using Forge.

You can change a players speed/gravity/colour/stop them picking up weapons or entering vehicles, have them immune to head-shots. There are lots more options, all these things happen for a set amount of time (Duration) which you get to set. How cool is it to have a player walking into a Custom Powerup not knowing what will happen to them. Take a look at the Tutorial and see for yourself the options available.

STEP 1

First you must go into Forge which is a new game mode that allows you to tweak, create, or even destroy the objects present on any multiplayer map. In short welcome to world domination.

From the main menu select Forge and then select a map from the 11 that are currently available. Then Start Forge(here I have selected Last Resort)

STEP 2

See the basic tutorial on how to use Forge, now after adding upto 4 Custom Power Up's from the Equipment Menu to your map (remember to choose your locations wisely)

press Start and Save As New Map (or if you already have one saved) just Save Changes.

STEP 3

Now Exit back to the Main Halo 3 screen and select Custom Games (don't start the game when asked) instead press (X) and go into Edit Game Options

STEP 4

Now select Weapons And Vehicles (after going into Weapons and Vehicles you will get another Menu)

STEP 5

Select the bottom one called CUSTOM POWERUP TRAITS from the options available

You now get 6 choices from the next menu, select them to customise into your own preferable option.

STEP 6

1.DURATION

The player will have these traits for the amount of time you have selected from this option. (In short when you walk into a Custom Powerup - this is where you decide how long the changes last)

STEP 7

2.SHIELDS AND HEALTH

You now get options which can all be modified to suit your taste - they last as long as you select in Duration. Select different ones to see what is available

STEP 8

3.WEAPONS AND DAMAGE

Decide how much damage the player does and select from Unchanged/Disabled/Enabled on other options

STEP 9

4.MOVEMENT

Have the player move slower of faster/heavier or lighter/able-unable to enter vehicles and decide which part they can enter

STEP 10

5.SENSORS

Decide who is seen on the motion tracker and also how far the sensor range can detect someone

STEP 11

6.APPEARANCE

Alter the active camo appearance/change colour of the player from a selection'have team mates-enemies see waypoints.

STEP 12

When you have changed the available selections to your preferred options/choice press (X) to save.

STEP 13

Now exit back to Halo3 Menu - Custom Games Lobby and Start the Game to try out your changes. (as an example I modified the map and named it NO JACK CARTER)

STEP 14

Now when you see a Custom Powerup in your map, you know what happens when you walk into it because you edited the settings.

It is possible for someone to walk into a Custom Powerup and then for the number of seconds you selected they could become a different color character and be killed by their own players because of this. You could even give them infinite ammo, stop them from picking up weapons or from using vehicles for a set number of time. Alter their gravity or their speed.

Explore the options and see for yourself - you can make a Custom Powerup a cruel or a kind item to walk into.
