You know, it's actually quite relaxing...

Nowadays all that we play are those action packed adventures that have us on the edge of our seats every minute, but is there something else?

We all get angry at our systems one time or another because we 'died RIGHT before that checkpoint AGAIN!'; well how about a game that has absolutely NO DYING? A game that has no enemies, or objectives? It might look like a cute game for little kids but it's absolutely not. I'm talking about Akimi Village. According to 'Playstation The Official Magazine' "-It might be the most relaxing PSN destination ever-' And from what I've seen I agree.

Akimi Village is all about building your own civilization, a la Age of War, but in Akimi Village their will be no barracks because you have nothing to fight. The game starts off with you being dropped into the world of the Akimi's. Almost every part of the world has been consumed by 'the darkness', and you are tasked with ridding the Akimi's of this Darkness. The difference? There will be no shooting, blasting or fighting. You get rid of the darkness by MAKING things.

What kind of things is the question, you are tasked with rebuilding the Akimi's civilization and every time you build, the Darkness recedes. Now I know it doesn't sound all that fun but it is. You have ABSOLUTELY NO DIRECT PATH, the game let's you build your own civilization at your own pass. Content with just harvesting? Go ahead! Want to build as fast as you can? Your choice! And that's the beauty of it, you have no worries, no re-spawns or senseless restarts. Their have been hardcore gamers who think they'll play it for a few minutes and be done with it, but guess what? Hours later they're saying "Just one more building" or "Right after I unlock this part" because it's relaxing. Now you see where I'm coming from right? As Brent Fox co-owner and art director of the NinjaBee (Akimi's producers) said: "You don't have to frag somebody  to have a good time playing games. In Akimi Village there is no pressure. You can work at your own pace and play the way you want to." Now you could go haywire and become the guy who's so into it he's drawing up plans, but that's not needed. Maybe we might see a Sandbox mod where we can just make our own village, and maybe we will be able to upload our Village? I'm crossing my fingers!
